Richmond So is a Structural Engineer with over 25 years of experience in design project management, structural engineering design, analysis and construction administration.
Richmond has extensive experience in the design and project administration of a wide range of building project types including museums, universities, schools, high rises, commercial developments and residential buildings. He is also an expert in historic restorations and structural investigations. He is familiar with design in structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber and composite materials.
Richmond has worked with Arup and other firms in Europe, Asia and North America.
Richmond's particular strength is his ability to focus on the underlying engineering issues in order to provide a design that is sensitive to owner requirements, architecture, building services as well as cost effectiveness and ease of construction.
Jennifer McClain P.E., Principal
Jennifer McClain is a Principal and a Structural Engineer with over 15 years of experience in all phases of project development from conceptual drawings through construction phase services. She has done design work in concrete, steel, lumber and masonry.
Jennifer joined RSE Associates, Inc. after working at Weidlinger Associates for 9 years. She has been responsible for a range of projects including renovations and new construction of research facilities, subway stations, residences, university facilities, and office buildings.
With an MS in Structural Engineering from Tufts University and a BS in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Jennifer has been published multiple times in the Journal of Structural Engineering. Jennifer is licensed in Massachusetts and 6 other states.
Tin Chu Wong S.E., Principal
Tin Chu Wong is a Structural Engineer who leads the office in L.A. With over 15 years of experience, he worked with both Arup and Buro Happold Engineers prior to joining RSE Associates, Inc. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Berkeley and his M.S. in Civil Engineering at Stanford University. Tin Chu has experience in all phases of project development including construction administration and design & analysis and done extensive work on a wide range of building types that include Health Care, Education, Libraries, Corporate Headquarters and Residential.
Kris Francois P.E., Principal
Kris Francois is a Principal and a Structural Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the structural design, analysis and construction administration of buildings.
She has a BS in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and worked at Arup and LeMessurier prior to joining RSE Associates, Inc. in 2003.
Kris has done structural design in concrete, steel, timber, masonry and composite for a range of building types including museums, universities, libraries, residences and health care buildings.
Kris is licensed as a Professional Structural Engineer in Oregon, Massachusetts and Colorado. She has enjoyed teaching as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado and the Boston Architectural Center.
Sofya Auren P.E., Principal
Sofya Auren is a Principal and a Structural Engineer with over 13 years of experience in the design and analysis of structures in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry, as well as renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings.
Sofya joined RSE Associates Inc., having previously worked for Robert Silman Associates in New York City until 2007. She has been involved in the design of high-end residential housing, additions for public schools, new construction of university buildings such as dormitories and laboratories, and the complete renovation of landmarked building for museum space. Her responsibilities include feasibility studies, schematic design through construction documents, as well as construction administration.
Sofya has a BS in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and is licensed as a professional engineer in the State of New York and Massachusetts.
Martha Sullivan P.E., Associate
Martha Sullivan is an Associate with over 10 years of experience in the design and analysis of structures in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Martha joined RSE Associates, Inc., having previously worked in the Boston office of Arup. She has been responsible for the design of a range of building projects, including new construction and renovation for museum, performing arts, educational, and residential buildings and has worked on several AIA award winning projects.
As a student, Martha performed research involving concrete materials and competed in a national concrete canoe competition.
Martha has an MS in Structural Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Civil Engineering (structural) from Cornell University, and is licensed as a professional engineer in the state of Massachusetts.
Tim Kyes P.E., Senior Engineer
Tim Kyes is a Senior Structural Engineer with over 10 years of experience in the deisgn of steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures. Tim joined RSE Associates, Inc. after relocating to Boston from Southern California where he worked for URS Corporation, Lyons Warren and Associates in San Diego and IDG Structural Engineers in Los Angeles.
Tim's expertise includes extensive knowledge in structural and seismic analysis and design of new and existing structures of all construction types.Tim also has experience in construction drawing production utilizing BIM 3D modeling in Autodesk REVIT. Tim has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (structural) from Univeristy of Connecticut and is a registered professional engineer in the states of Massachusetts and California.
Cameron McNall P.E., Senior Engineer & Director of Field Services
Cameron McNall is a Senior Structural Engineer & Director of Field Services with over 5 years of experience in the design and analysis of structures in steel, concrete, masonry and timber, and a decade of carpentry and contracting work in theatrical and residential construction.
Cameron joined RSE Associates, Inc. after deciding to learn the structural basis behind construction techniques, and offers a unique perspective on structural design with his on-site experience. He has been responsible for both new construction and renovations of residential, commercial and educational structures and buildings.
Cameron has a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and a BA from Humboldt State University in California.
Eugene Slavsky P.E., Senior Engineer
Eugene Slavsky is a Senior Structural Engineer with over 8 years experience in the design and analysis of structures in steel, concrete, and timber.
Eugene joined RSE Associates, Inc., having previously worked for Roome & Guarracino, LLC and for the Boston office of Ammann & Whitney Inc. He comes with experience in structural design, load rating and bridge engineering.
Eugene has been published in several journals and brings a unique ability to solve complex problems that may range over a variety of disciplines. His Masters research focused on the optimization of parameter estimation for finite-element model updating using non-destructive test data. Eugene holds an MS in Structural Engineering from Tufts University as well as a BS in Civil Engineering (Structural) from Tufts.
Ed Pomfred, Engineer
Ed Pomfred is a Structural Engineer with over three years of experience in the design and analysis of structures.
Ed joined RSE Associates, Inc. having previously worked with the Massachusetts Highway Department as well as Arup in New York.
Ed has a BS and a M.Eng in Civil Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Erwin Castillo, Drafter
Erwin Castillo is a drafter with experience in Autocad, Revit and similar drafting products.
Erwin joined RSE Associates, Inc. in the Fall of 2007 after graduating from a top drafting program in Boston with an emphasis on engineering. He works on projects ranging from high end housing to museums and universities. His experience includes all aspects of structural engineering drawings.
Erwin is a tremendous addition to our staff and has a meticulous focus on detail.
Kerri Lee, Office Manager & Bookkeeper
Kerri has over 8 years experience in business administrative management and outstanding communication skills with a proven ability to work independently as well as with others. She is responsible for and oversees the Business Development and Management of RSE. She works with our clients and engineers to make the office environment cheerful and productive. Kerri is also the bookkeeper for the company.
Before joining RSE Associates, Inc., she served as a special events coordinator and senior hospitality associate for over two years at one of Boston's leading restaurants.
Kerri received her BS in Psychology from Northeastern University in 2006.
